Today we would discuss how to Root your Samsung Galaxy SL I9003 on Gingerbread 2.3.6 DDKP1 or DDKP2 Firmware update. As in our knowledge this phone is running on Android v2.2 (Froyo). So we will tell you how to root your device in gingerbread firmware. Before rooting lets check out this phones specification  and features.

How to root Samsung Galaxy SL I9003 on DDKP1 / DDKP2 Firmware:

Requirements:
  • Download rooting package file of DDKP1

  • Download rooting package file of DDKP2

  • flashing  tool ODIN
Steps to be taken:
Step1. Enable the USB debugging from the path Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging.
Step2. Close all the tools in your pc like Antivirus, KIES PC Suite and Firewalls
Step3. Open the file which you have downloaded above(DDKP1 / DDKP2 ) and extract it on a safe place.
Step4. Now turn off the phone and enter into Download Mode.
How*- by pressing  Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button.
Step5. Once you entered the Download Mode connect the phone through USB cable.( Keep the Odin open on the computer )
Step6. In the Odin, you will see that within a minute or two, the ID : COM section will turn yellow which will mean that all the drivers have been successfully installed and you are now ready to select the files.

Step7. If you want to Root your Galaxy SL on DDKP1 firmware then click on “PDA” to select the file “DDKP1-CFROOT-23-12-2011” while, if you want to Root your Galaxy SL on DDKP2 firmware then click on “PDA” to select the file “DDKP2-CFROOT-23-12-2011”.
Step8. After selecting the files, ensure that all the other settings like “Re Partition” etc. are selected properly as mentioned in the below screen capture.

Step9. Once you have selected the file and checked with all the settings, you can now proceed to click on “Start”.
Step10. Once the process is over, the phone will be rebooted automatically. Please note that the device will take more than normal time to boot.
Step11. Now again you need to turn off the phone to enter the phone in the recovery mode
Step12. You can enter into the recovery mode by pressing up on Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. Once you enter into the recovery mode, choose the options Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition and then reboot your device by selecting reboot system now option.
That’s it you have completed the process.
